Bishop Clara Plamondon hails from northern Alberta near a small French community called Plamondon, close to Lac La Biche Alberta. She has lived in various parts of Alberta, Northern BC, Saskatchewan, and more recently on Vancouver Island where she served in the Diocese of BC - Islands & Inlets.
She would describe herself as a prairie kid who loves the open prairie and big blue skies. It’s probably why she enjoyed the open expanse of the ocean. She also enjoys travelling, playing tourist in her own backyard, and live theatre. After several years of work in municipal government, she began her journey of ministry and discernment in the church. She completed a Bachelor of Religious Education with a major in Pastoral Counselling and a Master of Divinity degree at Vancouver School of Theology. Bishop Clara is the 2nd Bishop of the Territory of the People.
Bishop Clara is committed to the ongoing work of reconciliation and healing. She values relationship building and discerning together the Spirit’s invitation as we embody the good news of Christ present in our lives both in our words and actions.
