The Traditional Ringing of the Church Bells at the death of a Monarch         

       Friday September 9, 2022  at noon, church bells will ring out across the diocese of the Territory of the People in memory of Queen Elizabeth, our Defender of the Faith.  The bell of St. Marks, Woodpecker will ring out too, joining the other churches.  

            Sunday, September 11, 2022 at 10am a memorial service for Queen Elizabeth will be celebrated at St. Marks, Woodpecker.  All are invited to attend.   Prayer: Creator God we thank you that you have made us in your own image and have given us gifts in body, mind, and spirit. We thank you now for Queen Elizabeth, for her life and witness and what she meant to each of us. We give thanks for her steadfast faith in Jesus which sustained her throughout her earthly life. We pray for her children, grandchildren, and  her great grandchildren. We pray for their comfort and peace in this time of mourning. As we honour her memory, make us more aware that you are the one from whom comes every perfect gift, including the gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ. Amen.
