Family (via zoom from England), friends, parishioners, clergy colleagues (several falling into more than one category) all descended on St. Andrew's St. Mary's Church on the afternoon of Tuesday, June 20, for the induction service of the Rev. Darren Bell.
The service lead by the Very Re Dr Kyle Norman, Dean of the Cathedral in Kamloops, had many parishioners participate. There was a lovely choral trio who sang Taizé prayers.
Megan Loyer presented a Bible
Lynn Buller presented a vessel of water
Helen Rackow presented the oils
Marie Dunbar presented a copy of the Canons
Yvonne Murray presented the keys to the church
Victor Hannah presented prayer books
Christina and Jonah Timms presented the bread a wine
Pastoral Elder for the Territory, Amy Charlie, was on hand to bestow a greeting and a blessing (and a hug) to Darren on behalf of the Pastoral Elders.
The service was followed by a reception that had many delicious treats. Thank you to everyone who helped make this event a success.
