The Cathedral at the Pit Stop Program

The Cathedral Crew volunteers for the Pit Stop Program

On December 1, 2024, the Bishop and many Cathedral volunteers, helped prepare the evening meal for the Pit Stop Program.

The purpose of the Pit Stop program is to provide a hot, nutritious, served meal to our guests each Sunday afternoon. Guests include seniors, youths, families and adults, many who may be marginalized or street entrenched community members. They strive to reduce the impacts of poverty by providing food and support in a caring and safe environment.

This program was held in the United Church until the recent fire and has been looking for a temporary home for the winter. The Cathedral has offered use of the hall for the Winter which has worked out well.

Potatoes were peeled, carrots were chopped and there was much laughter!
