Silver Sunday

On the 2nd Sunday of Advent, we have what we call 'Silver Sunday' - in a separate plate we collect any change that people would have in their pockets and use it towards the PWRDF annual catalogue. At our AVM, we then  as a parish pick from this catalogue. This year the folks at St Peter's raised $533.00. We have funded this year 1 solar pump to provide drinking water, 1 solar-powered irrigation kit, 5 sets of tools to 50 women (1 set of tools for 10 women) to set up their kitchen gardens in refugee camps and 5 sets of vegetable seeds for 5 families (25 families). 

We had decided at this recent AVM we would hold Silver Sunday on the Sunday closest to the Blessing of the Animals in the fall and pick our gifts on the First Sunday of Advent.
