With lots of emotion, St George’s Anglican church in Kamloops had a Celebration of Service for the Rev. Captain Isabel Healy-Morrow on Sunday, Oct 21st. Both the service and reception were led by Bishop Barbara who welcomed many parishioners, pastoral elders and guests from elsewhere in the South Rivers region.
For fifteen years Isabel has guided St. George’s with compassion and love and is now retiring for health reasons. There was lots of love, laughter and a few tears shed as a variety of people presented her with diverse farewell gifts.
Sunday Oct 21, 2018 will also be memorable for her as she was made a Territory Canon by Bishop Barbara. Though she is retiring from active ministry she will still be quite busy as she will continue working towards a Doctor of Ministry degree. As health permits, Isabel and Dwight may show up in the pews.
Congratulations were also offered to husband Dwight Morrow as he also begins a new chapter in his life.
We at St George’s and throughout the Territory wish them both lots of love and happiness on their new next step of their journey. Interim care for the parish will be led by retired Bishop Gordon Light with other assisting clergy and lay leaders. A search process for a new incumbent will commence in due course.
