As Christians, we want to practice faith that involves pursing justice, living with compassion, and addressing the very real needs in our society. However, that work must be rooted in and flow out of our worship and liturgy. Micah 6:8 issues the familiar call to the people of God – live justly, love mercy and walk humbly with God. At the Equip conference, we’ll explore what God requires of us after the liturgy by looking to how we are formed by the liturgy.
Rev. Dr. Kara Mandryk is the Coordinator of the Henry Budd College for Ministry and a priest in the Diocese of Brandon. Kara served for 16 years at Providence University College, teaching in the areas of Worship Studies and Practical Theology. She has her Master’s degree in Biblical Studies and her Doctoral work focused on the adaptation of ancient spiritual disciplines and rituals for young adults in the 21st century. Born and raised in Winnipeg, she began a northern Manitoba adventure by relocating to The Pas with her husband, Dr. Keith Hyde in 2014. Kara enjoys music, reading, gardening, baking, and hosting people in their peaceful home. She is so privileged to teach and learn alongside people with diverse liturgical, spiritual, and cultural backgrounds.
